Making cookies

I've been craving my mommy's sugar cookies. She makes them for Valentines and Christmas. However, I wasn't feeling well enough to stand long enough to make them on Valentines. Now that I'm feeling better, Cord and I are making my heart cookies. Cord kept saying "I'm a baker". The apron was his idea. We decorated some cookies and shared them with Moma 2 (his babysitter). He was very specific about how he decorated his cookies and was thinking about each person in the family while he did it.

Follow up Sadies

Here's some of the fun pictures Chelsea took while on her Sadies date. They were at the Mob museum, at dinner, and then some of the infamous paint fight. She came home covered in paint with a big smile on her face. They had a fun night.

Sadie Hawkins Dance

So kids these days do things a little different.  Chelsea got her date for Sadies (Jake) and the girls have been planning for months now, but apparently there is no "dance" involved.  I guess it's that way with all the school dances.  The kids think the dance part is "lame".  The school doesn't even sponser a dance for Sadies, it's more like a carnival, which is again "lame".  But the girls have a fantastic date planned.  They started at the park and invited the parents to come take pictures.  Apparently the only thing that is still the same for Sadies is the matching shirts/ jackets.  After pictures they were headed to the Mob Museum followed by dinner at Capo's Italian Steakhouse (mob themed resturant).  After watching a Bellagio fountain show they are going to have dessert at Serendipity on the strip.  After that they will head to Laser Quest for some laser tag.  They will end the night ice blocking and having a paint fight (?).  I am really excited for them.  They are a great group of kids and were really excited for this night.  i can't wait for Chelsea to get home and to get a full report on the evening.  Oh to be young and in love!

Swim Class

It's too cold to swim outside, so it's the perfect time to take swim classes at the indoor pool. Cord LOVES to swim and looks forward to class all day. Today was his last class. He improved so much over the 3 weeks of classes. I was amazed to see him swimming so much underwater. He has no fear and will try anything his teacher tells him. What a cute little fishy!. We hope to sign him up for another session. Then it will be hopefully warm enough to swim outside.

Manners party

We had a fun little date, Cord and I, at his preschool. They have been teaching the kids about manners and feelings. We had a "manners party" this morning. We got to dress in party clothes for this little affair so the kids all looked really nice. They sang a song for us. Then they each got to tell us what a good friend does. Cord said "A good friend reads with you". The kids were taught to pour the juice for their guest first and when the cookies came around they were to pick just one and serve their guest first. During the week the kids got to help make the cookies and they decorated the table runners. It was so cute to watch Cord "flirting" with his friend, Sierra. He was either trying to get her attention or picking his nose. What class!
