Trick Or Treat

The long awaited night finally arrived! We took the kids over to The District for trick or treating in the Ghost Village. All of the shops hand out candy and the kids get to ride for free on the carousel. After of about 45 min of walking around, Cord decided he was "all done". Mason also decided he didn't want to trick or treat anymore, just stay at home and hand out candy. Brianna then left to go hang out with her friends. Mason was later persuaded out around the neighborhood when his friends came around. He was really glad that he went out because they all got together and traded out candy. He got a ton of tootsie rolls when he traded the crappy candy like snickers, milky way, kit kat, etc. WOW, he got a great deal ;). Cord got a second wind when he saw all the trick or treaters in our neighborhood. We live a few houses down from the "Halloween house". People from all over come to see this house apparently and we severely underestimated how much candy we would need to hand out. After Cord went around the block and we got home, Mason said that we were almost out. Cord then decided that he wanted to share his candy with all of the "customers". We stood outside while he handed out the candy he had just received. I think he had more fun sharing than he did collecting. We did keep a little for him to eat later but I thought it was great because that means less candy hanging around the house for me to munch on. Chelsea was handing out candy for a little while until she got a better deal "hanging out" with a friend who happens to be a boy. I'm sure she is having a good time. I'm just super excited to take down all of the decorations tomorrow and be done. hehe..

Here's Cord standing outside waiting for more "customers" to come so he could hand out candy. He is uper cute!

Poor tired transformer. He begged to sleep in his costume, at this point I don't care what he does in it. After reading a few Halloween stories, he was out like a light. Happy Halloween!

Pre-school party

Cord popped out of bed this morning and yelled "Happy Halloween" day. He's been excited to wear his costume to school for their party. But first when he was getting dressed he insisted on wearing an orange shirt because "pumpkins are orange". I went to his school for his party. I love to see him singing his songs and playing with his school friends. I also love pre-school parties because they are so simple. They were drinking some "witches brew". Cord told me it had stinky socks and sandwhiches in it. YUCK!

Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee

Brianna and her buddy Victoria got creative with their Halloween costumes for school. That artistic school is really getting to their heads. They turned out super cute!!!

Jack O Lanterns

With all the cousins together, we wanted to carve our pumpkins into jack o lantern masterpieces. We lined up outside in Amber's back yard and started slicing. The kids were super creative and with the adults help made some super cute pumpkins. Chelsea didn't want to carve a pumpkin but found this cute little pumpkin to represent her (see above pic). She was my photographer and enjoyed sitting on the lawn talking. We had the kids dress up in their costumes to take pictures. I do believe that Chelsea's costume is the scariest of them all. (scroll down and you'll agree with me!!)

Thriller

The girls have always wanted to see Odssey Dance Theater's production of Thriller at Tuachan. Even though the show was sold out, I was able to get them tickets in the overflow section. Saturday night they took off together to see it. They came home super excited about the dances and things that they saw. I love this picture (even though it's slightly blurry) because it shows them actually having fun together and not trying to kill each other. It warms my heart :). I'm glad they were able to go see it. Maybe next year I'll join them. I would love to see it but really wanted to spend time with my sisters.

Anti-Gravity

We've heard a lot about it, but decided to take the kids down to Anti-Gravity Saturday morning. They absolutely loved it!!!!! They had fun jumping on the wall to wall tramps along with all the fun bounce houses. Someone had the bright idea to play dodge ball - kids vs adults. So Nathan, Maria, Eric, and Amber were against our kids (along with the poor helpless other kids who joined). They were ruthless. I saw them yelling at the little kids (ie, "blue shirt kid - you are OUT!) and I saw some kids leaving the arena crying. The bigger kids also enjoyed attaching themselves to the bungee cord and trying to catch the prize. Cord and Caleb loved running all over and doing whatever they wanted for a whole hour. They were super tired when we left (YEAH!). Cord keeps talking about the "trampoline place" and begging to go back. Maybe next time we are in town.

I told the little boys they could hit each other all they wanted but they had to do it with these sticks. Haha! They sure tried hard to make it happen.

It was fun to have Nathan here participating with the family activities with the kids. We've missed him!
