Still partying - Go Cougars

Tonight we gathered for two reasons, Chelsea wanted to cheer on her BYU cougars as they played UNLV, and she wanted to share some birthday cake with her new friends here in Vegas. So we planned a little BBQ tailgate party/girls night. We sent out the invites, bought a birthday cake, went grocery shopping, prepared the grill and brickets for smores, Chelsea cleaned the house, and then we looked on the TV to see what channel the game was on...... um problem. Apparently Dish network isn't carrying the game. What are we going to do? We have 6 girls coming over ready to cheer on their team but we won't be able to show the game and we can't afford to take them all to the game. I guess this is one of those times when you have to be flexible and know that you can't do everything you want. Plan B - we ran to the video store to get some movies to watch and Daddy was able to put the scoreboard on the computer so we could keep track of the game. It seemed like the girls had a good time, at least there was a lot of laughing going on. We had our BBQ, played the "candy bar game", had birthday cake, watched "Push", and then made smores in the backyard. I kept announcing the score but after awhile the girls didn't seem that interested. In the end BYU smoked UNLV so I guess the night was a success.

A beautiful evening to eat outside, no wind, about 70's

The candy bar game can get vicious, especially when there are big huge bars involved. But in the end the girls divided up the goodies so everyone ended up with equal amounts of candy to take home.

The cake was yummy - Chocolate with vanilla icing.

Ending the evening making smores on the back patio then sitting outside just talking. I was a little nervous as I watched the marshmellows catch fire but in the end everything was OK. At least nothing burned down.

The final score BYU 59, UNLV 21. This is how we watched the game on the computer. I thought it was cute when little cartoon guys would pop up and run down the field.

Even BYU fans can be friends with UNLV fans!
