Dance Team

So Brianna once again made it onto the Bob Miller Middle School dance team. And since the basketball season has started, that means she has a game to preform at once a week. It's fun to watch her preform and have fun with her friends. This year the team is going to a competition in February so that means extra saturday morning practices (6 am which isn't fair because it means I don't get to sleep in). It's great to watch her do what she loves. She has made a lot of good friends on the team.

Just so tired

In the afternoon, if Cord has been quiet for a little while I usually find him like this.....

He just falls asleep while he is playing. I guess he still kind of needs a nap in the afternoon but doesn't want to admit it.

I was thinking that the deadline for starting school was that you had to be 5 by the end of december and that would mean that he would start kindergarten in the fall. I was using this assumption to try to finally get to a day shift position. I found out this week that the deadline is actually September 24th. That means another year of pre-school and I don't know what that means as far as me working days. I guess we'll see how things pan out this summer. I'm totally depressed thinking that I have to stay on nights for another year and a half. I'm sooooo ready to not be tired all the time. When I really step back and analyze the situation, I guess he really isn't ready for kindergarten yet, especially when he falls asleep in the afternoon.

Take a picture

This isn't something you see everyday so I had to take a picture....Chelsea with her hair curled. She's more of a straight, no make-up, kind of gal. But her and her friend Faith were going to hang out with some friends so Faith decided to give her a make over. It's so cute, but unfortunately doesn't last long. I have such beautiful daughters!!!

Too much love

"Cord, leave Chester alone! Your giving him too much love."
"No too much love"

Poor Chester, he has to deal with Cord everyday. He loves this dog so much, too much sometimes. Chester will let him hug him but then will start growling to let him know that it's enough. What makes this even funnier is that Cord does not like to pass out hugs or kisses to anyone. I usually have to beg for one hug when I tuck him in and if I sneak in a kiss on his cheek then he'll wipe it off and chastise me. But he has no problem passing out kisses to Chester. Today I found Chester asleep behind the couch, probably hiding from Cord. hahaha.

Customer in training

I've seen these carts before, but never used them. I have to admit, Cord looked so cute pushing this around and acting so grown up. We got a lot of fun comments from other customers too. He liked to get the food from the shelf, check out the list, and enjoyed his free cookie. He even put all the stuff from his cart onto the counter and strolled his full cart out to the car. They grow up so fast!

Mason gets the Priesthood

It was a perfect day. We were surrounded by family today as Mason received the Aaronic Priesthood. My grandma came down with my parents and Mike's parents came down yesterday. My sister also brought down her family. I loved having our home filled with family and kids running around. After church we had Mason's favorite food - spagetti.

A couple of funny things happened at church. First, when the Bishop presented him in Sacrament meeting he forgot to have the congregation sustain him so he could get the Priesthood. So Mason had to stand up in his seat after the sacrament for a sustaining vote. When it was all affirmative Mason made a fist and whispered "YES". They planned to confirm him during priesthood. While we were gathered, one of the councilers was talking about the difference between getting keys and being ordained to the Priesthood. He asked if anyone here had "keys". Cord raised his hand and said so clearly "I have keys". I told you he was funny.

Home sweet home

Even though it was not our intention to raise our family in Vegas, it looks like we will be here for awhile. Since Michael and I both have good jobs here and the kids like their schools, we decided that it was time to go ahead and buy a home. It's not as easy as you would think. After looking at a lot of homes, I had to give up on the idea of having a big backyard like we did in Ivins (they just don't build houses like that here). And they also don't build homes with alot of storage space. We were blessed to find a home in our ward and made an offer on it the week it was listed. It should close mid february and we'll begin moving in and making it our own. The girls are excited to finally be able to paint their rooms. I'm excited to be calling this our last move for awhile and to be able to get rid of all the empty boxes we've been keeping for the last 3 years. It will be good to be settled. These are the pictures that were on the brochure. The first thing I'll do is to get rid of the lace curtains and repaint the wall behind the white built in shelves. So this is our grand project as we enter 2011.

Happy New Years

Bringing in the new year with family! I was supposed to be at work but I'm sick. Honestly sick. I'm even to dizzy to drive home. So we stayed in St. George and hung with the family (bonus). But we did send Brianna back to Vegas because she has some new years plans. So we played games until we dropped and the kids hung out together.

This is what we do to the first person who falls asleep. Dress them up and take pictures of them. Poor Caleb! Bring it on 2011!

Laser Mania

For the last several months Mason has been asking to go play laser tag for his birthday. We took advantage of our time in St. George to go to Laser Mania with his cousins. But before we went we headed to Golden spoon for a yummy treat (instead of cake). Once we got to Laser Mania they boys did the bumper cars (pretty lame cuz Mason's didn't even work), played video games, and then had an awesome game of Laser tag. It was fun to chase Cord and Caleb around and all they boys seemed to have fun. They ended the adventure by cashing in their tickets for prizes.

ARRRRG

We were chilling at my parents house when Cord came upstairs with his hand over his eye. I started to inquire what was wrong when he said, "I found the treasure". HUH? He held up the case and it soon became evident that he was pretending to be a pirate. ARRRRG. He keeps me laughing.
