Magic Forest

The weekend after thanksgiving we did a little shopping and pulled out the Christmas decorations. But Saturday night I wanted to take the kids to experience something new that would get us all into the Christmas spirit. I had heard about the "Magic Forest" and we decided to check it out. It was outside but luckily we are in southern nevada so we only needed our jackets. But truth be told, it got a little nippy and we were wishing for gloves by the end of the night.

The first thing we did was to go visit with Santa. Cord needed to tell him he wanted a Choo-Choo for Christmas. Mason also had a couple DS and Wii games he's hoping for. Santa did tell him that the elves had reported that he hasn't done so well keeping his room clean. Mason promised to try harder. The girls were good sports and got in the picture for me. Then we wandered through the forest. All the trees were decorated with a fun theme (like a jubilee for trees but outside with the natural trees). I can't even tell you how cool it was! Next stop was on the Forest Express (choo-choo) that drives around and through the forest. Other activities included the carousel and giant slide. We topped the night off with hot chocolate with whip cream on top and headed to the car just as it started to sprinkle raindrops.

If we are here next year we will definitely do this again. It's the perfect after thanksgiving activity to start the Christmas season. Only next time we'll take gloves.
