Christmas preparations

Last weekend was all about getting up our Christmas decorations and getting ready for our ward party. For the party they asked people to be host families (we were one) to have a few families over for dinner and more intimate experience, then we all met at the church for a musical program and dessert. It was great because we got to sit and talk with people we wouldn't have normally talked with. My girls were asked to be servers for the dessert. They did a great job making sure the kids didn't put their grubby hands all over the yummy treats. (excuse my poor pics from my stupid phone).

Cord is getting excited for Christmas but can't decide what he wants. One afternoon I gave him an ad and told him to circle the things he liked. Almost everything but the girl things were circled. He said Brianna could have those things if she wanted (so sweet).

Cord and I spent 2 days getting all the Christmas decorations out. I was a little stressed trying to get the home ready for a party, but we tried to have fun with it. He tied some antlers to our big stuffed dog for a game of ring toss (which was a much better idea than tieing them to me or Chester).

We "baked" a big gingerbread man and hoped that he didn't run away :)

When Mason got home from school the boys set up the train. Mason pointed out that we ALWAYS decorate the tree as a family so we waited for the girls to get home from their various activities so we could have some family time. Good idea Mason!

Mike is still remodeling the fireplace. It's going to be great once it's done but we are still waiting for the right parts to get it connected so he can finish. It was fun to decorate it though. One of the nicest things I've put together for a long time. Nothing like a deadline and people coming over to make you get out all your decorations and set things up nice. I'm glad to be done and now we have several weeks to enjoy it.

Apparently we have some lights we need to fix. :)
