Independence Day

We had planned to take the family up to Mt Charleston to enjoy our 4th of July holiday, but the rain and lightening caused us to go to plan B. That included taking the kids to a movie. Mike took the 3 older kids to see the new Transformers movie while I took Cord to see Cars 2. Then we went and found a place by the Green Valley Resort Casino and waited for the fireworks. We could see fireworks from all over the valley but are still trying to find "the" spot to see all that Vegas has to offer. While we were waiting the kids played some lawn games that we brought with us.

After the show, we went home to have our own celebration. I think the kids enjoyed this part the most. We did our own fireworks and sparklers. We were really missing family and homemade ice cream so we had to end the night with our own (store bought) ice cream. Mason (as part of our scout troop) helped to put up flags. We are all proud to be Americans and love the chance to celebrate our freedoms.
