Go Sharks!!

Cord has always loved playing baseball and we've been waiting for the day that he was old enough to learn how to play a real game with a team. This is his year to start playing T-ball. The boys voted on their team name and decided to call themselves the "Sharks" (which is better than the "trees" or "killers"). His first game was today. It was so funny. First I must say that I love how relaxed the whole game is. Parents are coming on and off the field to help their boys. Everyone gets to hit and run. Nobody keeps score or track of outs. It's all just fun. Second, I'll say that there is "crying in baseball" when it comes to playing with 3 and 4 year olds. If someone didn't get the ball when they wanted, there was crying. Or the boys would get tired and want to quit - then start crying. There were also some pile-ups happening which reminded me more of a tackle football game instead of baseball.

Cord is left handed, but is still having a hard time getting the swing down. He can actually hit both ways which I guess is our secret skill. I was surprised how hard it was to find a little left handed mitt though. I went to 5 sports stores until I finally found one. Cord has 8 games total which takes us into the first of December. Only in Vegas do you start your season in October and end in December - weird. I guess that's because if they were playing in the summer they would all DIE!

Sorry for the picture overload here. I was just having so much fun capturing his first ever baseball game and he was so cute. Believe me when I say that I did cut some of the picture out though.

WARNING: The next couple of pictures contain sports violence......

Right after Cord got the ball, he got tackled. But he emerged out of the rubble and lifted the ball straight up to show that he got it. Then the coach had to peel all the boys off of him and instead of throwing the ball, he ran it over to 1st base.

Note the little player still on the ground in the corner........ crying.

Cord and Momma day

On Friday Cord and I had a fun morning together. First we went to his preschool and decorated some fun book bags. Then we headed to the library. Cord likes to play with the fun games and activities that they have there in the children's section. Then he gets to pick some more videos and books to take home. It was such a nice day we decided to go to the park and have a picnic. It's days like this that I feel like I'm actually being a "good mom". I just wish we had more moments like this and that I had more energy to do more fun things with him. He is growing up before my eyes. I love the little moments when he'll snuggle with me and we are just together. He'll climb on my lap and say "momma, I want you". It makes my heart smile.

Little Mermaid

Our main reason for going to St. George was because the girls and I had tickets to see the Little Mermaid at Tuachan. I had heard that it was good, but I was totally blown away at all the special effects. They really made us feel that we were "under the sea". We saw it with my parents and my sister's family. It was a great night. The boys had fun because they got to sleep over at Riker's house.

Childhood friends

While in St. George I took some time to catch up with Sherri and Angela for lunch. I always love our lunches together and taking time to get caught up on our lives.

4 Wheeling

We love spending the weekend in St. George and being with family. Saturday we headed out to Wearner Valley for some four wheeling. Grandma and grandpa got a 3rd four wheeler that is easier for the teenagers to drive. It's the first time Brianna really drove on her own. The little boys had fun just playing in the dirt and came home covered in red. The weather was perfect for hanging out, although it did start sprinkle on Mason and I when we were out. It didn't stop the girls from heading out though. Luckily it didn't last long and the fun continued. Grandma broke her foot last week and had it in a splint so I was a little surprised to see her hop on one and follow grandpa out on the trail. You can see from all the dust that my dad is like a little kid when he gets on the 4-wheelers. We are going to change his name to pigpen.
