Carvin pumpkins

It's tradition to carve the pumpkins so I guess it must be done, even if we are tired.  The boys really got into cleaning them out got creative with their carving.  Cord made a silly face, Mason made creeper from minecraft, and Brianna carved an "A" from Pretty Little Liars (to go with her costume). Chelsea opted out of this fun family activity and decided her bed was more inviting.

Trunk or Treat

Our ward always has a fantastic Trunk or Treat party.  It's fun because a lot of people dress up and decorate their trunks.  Brianna and her friends dressed up as the "Pretty Little Liars" (from one of their favorite shows)  I guess you have to watch the show to understand but they looked cute.

Cord wanted to be Boba Fett but couldn't find the right costume so he settled for this clone trooper with a mix and match of other Star Wars stuff that we had from other costumes.  He got a new gun and "decorated" it himself.

Mason didn't really want to dress up this year, but he broke out the Morph suit from last year and was in charge of handing out the candy in our trunk.

Even though we kind of threw stuff together at the last minute, our trunk took 3rd prize for the "spooky-est" trunk.

PS - the shadow behind Cord is Mason.

Chelsea brought a couple of friends with her.  She dressed up as Taylor Swift.

Cord had so much fun running around to all the trunks and running with friends.  At one point he had 3 girls chasing him around.  Cord found his buddy - Matt Blatter.  They are like brothers from another mother.

Mason did manage to find a couple of friends too, Nick and William.

Blown away

The real reason we headed to San Diego was to take the girls to the Carrie Underwood concert.  She didn't come to Las Vegas so we had to come to her.  This is our 3rd concert and we were NOT disappointed.  We had a good time clapping and singing along at the top of our lungs.  I did feel a little out of place at the concert because I didn't have a sparkly outfit, boots, cowboy hat, or a huge beer in my hand, but we did find our own way to enjoy ourselves.

The crew attached these balloons to the stage and at one point the stage lifted up and travelled to the back of the arena so she was right in front of us.  There's always a fun surprise at her concerts.

I loved the duet with the virtual Brad Paisley.  It's one of my favorite songs and he is fun to look at ;)

Each song has a different set and she changes outfits a lot to make it fun and interesting.

We were definitely BLOWN AWAY by the concert.  It was worth the trip.
