Splash pad

Trying to squeeze in every ounce of fun that we could while we were in Utah, we decided to take the kids to the new splash pad. How much fun that was. It's a great way to keep cool in that southern Utah heat. Even Cord enjoyed chasing down the squirting water and walking around in the lazy river. I wish we had fun things like that here in MA.

Friends in the North. 6/28

Whenever Shari and I get together, we always manage to find time for what we call thHAIRapy. I often tell her that she picked the wrong career (nursing) and she should just do hair for a living. I tell her just to do whatever she wants with my hair and it always looks great. Plus I always come away feeling much better about life when we are done. She is a dear friend and I always cherish our time together.
So I became a blond again with a cute shorter cut. Meanwhile, Carly got blond streaks in her red hair, and Chelsea got red streaks in her dark blond hair. I told Chelsea that it's the same color as the red dirt from Ivins, so it's like a way to take a little of Utah back home with her.

After our visit with the Kay family, we headed over to spend sme time with the Davies. They used to live in our neighborhood in Ivins before they moved to Saratoga Springs. Whenever we are up north, we try to find time to visit. I hope these kids will always be BFFs. Our time with them was much to short, but we had to get on the road back to st. george. Have you noticed that in a lot of the group pictures, Cord is usually screaming and trying to get down? I guess it's good enough just to have him in the shot, so he knows he was there.

Ready for a bike ride? 6/27

Our first day in Bear Lake, we passed by a shop that rented the most unusual bikes we had seen and made a goal to go on a bike ride. Us "old" ladies, Chelsea, and the 2 babies got to ride in this chariot. You can see the pics down below the other bikes the kids rode. We had them for 1 hour and laughed the whole time, well maybe not the whole time because it seemed like it was uphill both ways. We were quite the spectacle riding down the street all in one parade. But it was certainly something we won't forget. We rewarded ourselves with a snow cone after our ride which tasted so GOOD!

We eventually let Chelsea "drive" our bike. Both the babies seemed to enjoy the ride. Caleb kept saying "GO, GO" whenever we slowed down to take a break.
Don't we look cute? We each had to put the pedal to the medal and this thing was really heavy. Good thing Amber is used to riding and Chelsea is young. When we were dragging, she would stand up and get us going again.
Mason and Ethan (not pictured) had these banana bikes while Christian had this cool 3 wheeler.
Rebekah really wanted to pedal, but she wasn't quite tall enough. These crazy girls were all over the road, but were laughing while they were driving.

Minnetonka Cave 6/26

Today we decided to tackle the limestone cave. There were 440 steps in then back out again(total 880 in case you had trouble adding). I had the pleasure of carrying my (heavy) baby through the whole thing. The stairs were wet and slippery at times. It really was an amazing experience for everyone. As the tour guide took us through, she would explain how the cave was found and the different names they have given to the limestone formations. Each "room" had a theme or a story. It was a chilly 40 degrees inside the cave and once you got by the bats that can hang out at the entrance, it wasn't so bad. Christian said it was the "best day ever"! But then again, he manages to have a lot of "best days" because he is always looking for good experiences.

Luckily they had lights and handrails all throughout the cave.
I think this was the "3 sisters"
Brianna, Kennedy, and Danisha are waiting at the entrance to the cave. There was even a little snow there in the middle of June.
We finally made it to the bottom of the cave. This is the wedding room. We are in front of "the bride" and above us is another formation titled 'the groom". In about 700 years they should finally meet. The guide turned off the light so we could see how dark it was when the cave was first discovered. It was wicked dark in there.

Hanging on the beach at Bear Lake 6/25

We actually spent a couple of days just hanging out on the beach with the whole gang. I just love being with my aunts family. We all have a good time together.

Here's all the Alldredge grandkids (except Rhylan).
This is the kids with "The Great" grandma Mathews. This is my mom's mother and the wonderful lady that Cord is named after.
Grandma, my mom, and her sister Terri enjoying some family time on the beach
Still smiling after a day at the beach.

Beach pics 6/25

You should know me well enough to know that I took a ton of pics at the beach. These are a couple of my favorites. The kids spashed in the cool water and dug in the sand. Cord especially loved throwing dirt.

Paris

Did I meantion that we went to PARIS...........idaho. We had to stop to take this pic just so the kids could tell their friends that they had been to paris. I wonder if there are any similarities?

Reunion at Bear Lake 6/24

We had a Mathews Family reunion at Bear Lake for the week. We rented this 3 story cabin to share with our family, my mom's sister, Teri, with her family, and of course - Grandma. We always have a fun adventure when we're together!

My Aunt Teri and Uncle Duane brought some 4 wheelers. The kids got to ride them whenever there was free time at the cabin.

The landscape here was beautiful. I just love being surrounded by the mountains. Behind Brianna and Kennedy was a softball field. The kids also played games here during our free time.

Chelsea enjoyed just hanging out in the cabin.

Here's our family, along with our surogate daughter, Kennedy. We had her with us for almost a month. Whenever we get together, she becomes a McKelleb. There is always a place for her at our table.

More Bear Lake pics

This is my sister, Amber, going for a nice walk with Cord and her son Caleb.
The boys loved playing the wii.
Uncle Eric took Brianna and Kennedy for a ride on the 4 wheeler. They were gone for quite a while and came back exhausted. Come to find out that they ran out of gas. So what are ya gonna do? Of course Kennedy and Brianna had to get off and push!
I had the pleasure of celebratng my b-day while we were there. This cake showed up that night which was a great treat for all of us.

McKelleb Family 6/23

Mike has 1 brother, Dave, who is 2 years older than him. I dearly love his wife Susan which is great because we have done a lot of things together. We even managed to have similar families which was great because everyone had a cousin to play with. We just couldn't keep up with them for the last child. We sure miss hanging out with them, so we got together on monday for pizza and swimming in their backyard. Raycel is a couple months older that Chelsea. They have been buddies for a long time.
Brianna and True and so similar it's scary sometimes. When Susie and I swap stories about our girls, it's uncanny how alike they are.
Mason LOVES hanging out with Riker. They spent quite a bit of time splashing in the pool.
We tried hard to provide a buddy for Paige, but it just didn't happen. She is really cute to play with Cord though. She is such a cutie!
